Eight Artefacts from Around the World

In May 2025, nine students from the MA Publishing course at London College of Communication came together to work on a social justice publishing project. Through a workshop organised by librarians Gavin Clarke and David Smith, students explored items from the LCC print special collection and analysed them from a postcolonial lens. The project was set up by course leader Dr Frania Hall and funded by the LCC Social Purpose Fund.

As project manager, I coordinated schedules and team workflow across writing, editing, design, and production roles, completing the project within a 6-week timeframe. I built and maintained a production tracker in Google Sheets, managed file versions, and handled stakeholder communications through to final handover. Working closely with the whole team helped me understand how to manage planning and adapt to changing circumstances, and gave me production experience that I'll carry into my future work.
